I tried to make this drawing of Kurt Cobain, but apparently it doesn't look like him... I think it does, but anyway, at least it doesn't look like a cartoon type of thing.

hmm, I agree with you the result is not look like Kurt. However I like the work : it is very expressive and completed in a beautiful manner
the only thing I can recommend you is to rename it : so the work will be viewd as a separate artwork and not compared with Kurt'shots

nah, I think it looks like him, but I remember the photo you drew this from. amazing! made me do a double take in the browse gallery. you've got crazy talent!

Oh God I know how you feel when you use a reference photo that doesn't show Kurt the way people are used to seeing him, so you get a ton of "that doesn't look like him, but who cares?" comments. FUCK OFF everyone who says that! Maybe link the reference if you can? That's what I ended up doing because I got sick of people saying that without seeing the original. That aside, your pencil work is excellent. The textures look very real, and the expression is well captured. I think I remember seeing this picture, and I do think the likeness is definitely there.

Yeah, I know i shouldn't care about what people says about my art and about «how much it looks like the original»... hehe I kinda do, but we always wish the better comments, don't we? hehe What you did *yer kurt cobain portrait* is reallu fucking nice tho! Thanks! I'm always telling myself I shouldn't care about the negatives so much, but it still gets me down no matter how many times I hear them. Kinda looking forward to going back to school in that sense. My friends can fix my battered ego after it's bruised by the helpful critiques (I like people to let me know what could be better, but then I just wonder why I didn't do it in the first place).
